Marie’s daily verse: Psalm 46:10 New Living Translation: “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
DAILY DEVOTION, June 11, 2024
What, then, shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8 31-32).
Paul asks a serious question. Too often, we Christians worry about this and that, about this person and that person. However, what enemy/problem can stand up to God if God is for us? The things that seem to work against us are no match for God. The word “if” does not suggest doubt. A better translation is, “Since God is for us, who can be against us.” God has revealed that He is on our side. He has spoken very plainly in His Son.
God did not spare His own Son but allowed Him to go to the cross for us. Paul speculates that if God has already given us His best (His Son), why would He withhold from us any lesser blessing? With the gift of His Son, we receive eternal life and whatever else we may need. God cared enough to send His very best. He will not withhold from us any lesser blessing that will strengthen our relationship with him.
So, in the words of Peter, “Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Whatever concerns you may be cast into the arms of the heavenly Father. He has already given you His best. Trust Him for the rest.
Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus to redeem us and for Your promise to give us whatever we need to grow in grace. Help me to trust You with all my needs. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
