I will be doing a first person sermon on Simeon on 12/15. Simeon is an often forgotten person in the Christmas story. He appears in Luke 2.
Tonight is our appreciation dinner at Lil Papa Joe’s at 5:30. Marie and I are happy to host this dinner for the entire congregation. About 40 have signed up. We will enjoy good food, some challenging games Marie has cooked up, and a great time of fellowship.
Bible study resumes on Wednesday at 3:30. We have pie left over from the Bazaar for our snack! We will continue our study in Isaiah, chapters 36-39. Choir follows Bible study as usual.
Thursday at 10:30 AM is the annual FCW Christmas Tea at Debra Barb’s. That is always an enjoyable experience for the ladies.
Next Sunday we will have a soup/sandwich lunch after church. Then 27 of us will head to Osage Beach for our annual trip to their Christmas show. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything!

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 12/2 THRU 12/8
I will wrap up the series on “Praying According to the Will of God this Sunday as we look at what it means to pray in Jesus’ Name.
It was wonderful to have Rick and Nancy Grace with us last Sunday. Rick made an outstanding presentation in Sunday School which was well received. I think Disciple Heritage Fellowship is in good hands.
We have 27 signed up to attend the Main Street Music Hall Christmas show on December 15 at 3 PM. We will have a soup and sandwich luncheon at the church before heading to Osage Beach. All are welcome to stay for lunch after church on 12/15. There is still time to sign up for the Bowman thank you dinner at 5:30 on Dec. 9th at Little Papa Joe’s Restaurant. A brief board meeting will follow dinner.
Reminder that Bible study is cancelled this week because of the Hospice volunteer lunch at noon and the annual Hospice Memorial Service at our church at 5 PM. Choir will still rehearse at 2 PM.
Our annual Christmas Fellowship Dinner will be held at 11:30 on December 15.
Lots going on this month. As we focus on the birth of Jesus, our Messiah, may His presence be with you all.

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH 11/24-12/01
This week will continue the sermon series on “Praying According to the Will of God.” The emphasis this week will be on that vitally important word, “forgiveness.” There will be a change in adult Sunday School. Rick Grace, from Disciple Heritage Fellowship (DHF) will be leading the class, sharing an update on DHF.
A reminder to our faithful Wednesday Bible study participants. We will not meet this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Choir is also canceled for this week.
For those interested, the Cole Camp German Choir will hold their annual Christmas concert at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, on Sunday, December 1 at 7 PM. It is a beautiful service. I have been with the choir for about 15 years. I will be reading the Christmas story from Luke 2 in German. Better yet, great food is served following the concert!
For those planning to go to Main Street Music Hall in Osage Beach after church on Dec. 15, this Sunday, Dec. 1, is the last day to sign up. I will be calling in the final number on Dec. 2. There will be a soup and salad fellowship dinner after church before we head to Osage Beach. The dinner is for all.
Also, be sure to sign up for the Bowman ‘s annual Christmas dinner at Lil Papa Joe’s on Monday, Dec. 9th. A brief Board meeting will follow.
Ladies, the annual Christmas tea will be at Debra Barb’s home on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 10:30.

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH: 11/18 THRU/11/24
The sermon series on praying according to the will of God continues. This Sunday we will be looking at that important word “forgiveness.” It is a topic I have broached before several times. It ties in very closely to the theme of praying in harmony with God’s will so we will look at it once more.
Wednesday Bible study will continue our study in the book of Isaiah. We will be looking at Isaiah 28:1 thru 31:9.
All are invited to the various Thanksgiving and Christmas events coming up. The annual church Thanksgiving dinner will be on Nov. 24 (next Sunday!) at 5:30. Turkey. dressing provided. Bring side dishes to share.

FYI the annual Hospice Memorial Service will be at our church on Dec. 4th at 5 PM. Bible study canceled for that day and choir moved to 2 PM.

This Week at Warsaw Christian Church, 11/10 thru 11/17
The sermon series on prayer according to the will of God continues. The basic text is 2 Chronicles 7:13-15. We will also look at the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector in Luke 18. Our main focus will be on that key word “humility.” Without it, successful prayer is impossible!
The church board meets tomorrow evening at 6 PM Wednesday at 3:30 is Bible Study followed by choir.
