DAILY DEVOTION, March 8, 2024

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart (Colossians 4:2).

Paul admonishes us to devote ourselves to prayer. “Devote” refers to godly people who take their prayer life very seriously. They are alert to what is happening in the world and pray with a thankful heart. Those who believe in the power of prayer demonstrate their faith by praying daily. They are devoted to prayer. They continually pray over the world situation and their immediate needs. When a problem pops up, they pray. They have confidence that God hears and answers their prayers. When we pray occasionally, are we devoted to prayer? When we seldom pray, do we really believe in the power of prayer? God admonishes us to pray. If God wants us to pray, prayer is effective and powerful. Make use of prayer every day.

Father, I thank You that we can draw near to You anytime and ask whatever we will. Thank You for hearing us and for answering our prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
