Marie’s  daily verse: This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:5-7).

DAILY DEVOTION, February 13, 2022

They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.” (Revelation 17:14).

When you think of “The King,” perhaps Elvis Presley comes to mind. He may be the king of rock and roll, but Jesus is “The King.” Without getting into all the complexities surrounding the Book of Revelation, here is the main point. Jesus came to earth for one primary purpose, to bring salvation to the human race. He is described in the text as a “Lamb.” He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He forgives all who trust in Him and His shed blood. Yet, from the time of His birth through today, some war against Him. Their efforts to unthrone the King of kings are futile. He will finally triumph over all His foes.

Christians disagree over the nature of that final conflict. But, it is enough to know that we win! His faithful followers will be with Him when He defeats all who oppose Him. Just make sure you are on the winning team!

Father, it puzzles me as to why anyone would fight against You. Yet I must confess there was a time when I fought against You. There was a time when I rejected Your Son. Thank You for Your forgiveness. I want to be Your instrument, drawing others into Your kingdom. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
