Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away (Matthew 27:59-60). 

DAILY DEVOTION, April 16, 2022

 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).

Paul speculates on things that might possibly separate us from the love of Christ. The bottom line is that nothing can separate us from His love. What a comfort it is to know that as we trust in Jesus, we are safe forever! Nothing can ever drive a wedge between us and Jesus. What about the devil? Nope! He is a created being, and no created being can separate us from the love of Jesus.

God the Father accepts us into His kingdom when we trust in His Son. Jude says that God is able to keep us from falling away spiritually (1:24). When we trust in Jesus His hand is upon us and He will guide us safely through life and finally into heaven. There is no power on earth or in heaven strong enough to interfere with God’s plan. Our job is to make sure that our faith is real and permanent.

Father, I do trust in Jesus. I pray that my faith is not hypocritical. Thank You for the promise that as I trust in Jesus I am safe and secure throughout eternity. In His name, I pray.  Amen.
