Deuteronomy  31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. 

DAILY DEVOTION, January 9, 2023

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom (Isaiah 40:28).

Isaiah asks two questions for us to ponder. He then answers his own questions. The God we worship is everlasting. He has no beginning or end. He is the Creator of all that exists. He is so great that our puny human minds cannot fathom Him in his totality. He has revealed much to us about His nature, but there is much of God we will never understand. Be careful when you are tempted to criticize God because He didn’t do what you asked of Him. His ways are way beyond our understanding. Isaiah also reminds us that God’s energy and mind never grow tired. That means He can always hear and answer your prayers. He is never too tired to listen to you. He asks us to cast all our cares upon Him. Even when we do not receive the desired answer, He always ministers to the hearts of those who pray.

Father, help me remain faithful when things that cause me pain and anguish happen in this life. Help me realize that my prayers always reach You even when I do not understand the answer. Thank You for Your love for me and Your everlasting patience. In the wonderful name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
