THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 12/2 THRU 12/8

I will wrap up the series on “Praying According to the Will of God this Sunday as we look at what it means to pray in Jesus’ Name.
It was wonderful to have Rick and Nancy Grace with us last Sunday. Rick made an outstanding presentation in Sunday School which was well received. I think Disciple Heritage Fellowship is in good hands.

We have 27 signed up to attend the Main Street Music Hall Christmas show on December 15 at 3 PM. We will have a soup and sandwich luncheon at the church before heading to Osage Beach. All are welcome to stay for lunch after church on 12/15. There is still time to sign up for the Bowman thank you dinner at 5:30 on Dec. 9th at Little Papa Joe’s Restaurant. A brief board meeting will follow dinner.

Reminder that Bible study is cancelled this week because of the Hospice volunteer lunch at noon and the annual Hospice Memorial Service at our church at 5 PM. Choir will still rehearse at 2 PM.
Our annual Christmas Fellowship Dinner will be held at 11:30 on December 15.

Lots going on this month. As we focus on the birth of Jesus, our Messiah, may His presence be with you all.

I have been with the choir for about 15 years. I will be reading the Christmas story from Luke 2 in German. Better yet, great food is served following the concert!

On Sunday I will continue the series on “Prayer According to the Will of God.” The basic text is Psalm 66:16-20. The emphasis in this series is not only must the prayer request be in harmony with God’s will, but the one praying must also be in harmony with God’s will.

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 10/28-11/3

I will begin a new sermon series this Sunday on “Prayer: According to the Will of God.” God has promised to answer our prayers when we pray according to His will (1 John 5:14-15). That may seem simple enough but we will spend about 5 weeks examining what it means to pray according to the will of God. In other words, it is not such a simple matter after all!

Jack Salyer will lead our Bible study in the Book of Isaiah on Wednesday at 3:30 followed by choir practice.

Later in November Marie and I will be attending the International Conference on Missions in Kansas City (Nov. 13-16). We will not need to miss a Sunday. This will give us a chance to rub elbows with missionaries from all over the world. It will enlarge our vision as we will have the opportunity to learn how the church is ministering around the world.

Congratulations to our Warsaw Wildcats who finished the season with a winning record (6 wins, 3 losses) for the first time in several years. They defeated Skyline 68 to 66 in their last regular season game (Yes, I am talking football, not basketball!!).
