Because of the weather last Sunday our carry in dinner was postponed until this Sunday (1/20). Hopefully the weather will be better by then.
The sermon for January 20 is entitled “Paul in Athens.” The text is Acts 17. In Athens Paul proclaims the Gospel of Jesus to highly educated philosophers. Did the Athenians understand that the Gospel of Jesus was superior to the Stoic and Epicurean philosophies? We will discuss the beliefs of the Athenian philosophers and how they responded to Paul.
In our Wednesday Bible study we will examine the parable of the laborers in the vineyard, Matthew 20:1-16. If you tried to run a business based on this parable it would not work. We will look for the spiritual application of the parable. We will discover an important truth about salvation.
So far one person has responded to the request to write a brief paragraph on “What This Church Means to me.” You can see that testimony on the web page under “testimonials.” I hope more of you will submit testimonies.
