Daily verse: I call on the Lord in my distress,
and he answers me. PSALM 120:1
DAILY DEVOTION, November 12, 2022
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:17).
In this verse God calls upon us to protect the weaker members of society; those who are oppressed, the fatherless and the widows. There are many ways we can seek justice for the weak. One way is to encourage our law enforcement community. They are the protectors of society. They are the first line of defense for the oppressed.
I thank God for the police and other first responders who are working for justice in our society. We have seen in the past two years what happens in society when the police force is reduced or when their hands are tied. Crime in this country has become an epidemic. It seems that many do not understand that we live in a world plagued by sin. If there are no consequences for bad behavior, it will only increase. I appreciate those who risk their lives to protect the rest of us. I pray for God’s blessing and protection upon our law enforcement officers.
Father, may I do my part in seeking justice in this fallen world. I pray for your protection for our law enforcement officers who risk their lives to restrict crime and violence in our society. Please bless them and keep them. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
