Marie’s daily verse: Romans 2:1You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
The first part of this verse is easy to understand. Our delight is to be centered on the Lord – – – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We are to experience delight in serving Him, in our prayers, in our worship, in our Bible study, etc. Once we have been redeemed, we find great joy in everything related to God. If we don’t, we need to reexamine the reality of our faith.
The second part of the verse Is subject to two different interpretations. Does it mean that God will give us whatever we desire? A better understanding is that when we delight in the Lord, our desires change. He changes our hearts. We cease to focus on me, me, me! We want to help others. We want to love and forgive. We want to follow Jesus. These new desires are given to the redeemed by God. The verse leads me to ask a question. Do my desires center on me or on God?
Father, I thank You so much for loving and forgiving me. I thank You also for changing the desires of my heart. May Your name be honored and praised forever. In the blessed name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
