HIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH 2/10 thru 2/16

Marie and I will be gone this Sunday. Bill Siebert will be filling in as guest minister. His topic will be “The Miracle and Magic of Prayer.” Text is 2 Chronicles 7:14. We will be leaving Saturday to visit son Gary in Cuba and attend church with him on Sunday. Then we head to Joplin to attend the Ozark Christian College Preaching and Teaching conference. This is always an inspiring event that we anticipate every year. I will be back in the pulpit on Feb. 23 continuing our examination of the Gospel of John.
Bible study will be at 3:30 Wednesday. I will be leading the study/discussion of Isaiah. Mark will lead the study the following week wrapping up our study of Isaiah. Then, on to the Book of Hebrews. Choir follows Bible study at 3:45.
Official Board meets Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
May the blessings of Jesus Christ our Savior surround you one and all!

WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 2/3 THRU 2/9

This Sunday I will continue the sermon series from the Gospel of John. John records Jesus’ first public miracle turning water into wine. There are some interesting implication that flow from that event. Sunday School will be at 9:30.  Following church we will enjoy our annual Valentine’s Day lunch served by the men.
FCM (men’s group meets Tuesday at 9:30 with FCW (women’s group) meeting at 9:30 Wednesday.
Bible study on  Wednesday at 3:30 will complete our study of Isaiah. The following week we begin our study of the Book of Hebrews. Of course, all are welcome. Choir follows at 4:45. We are still hoping that some will respond to our call for extra voices to help with our Easter Cantata.
Marie and I will be gone on Feb. 16 attending the annual Ozark Christian College Preaching and Teaching Convention. It is always a great time of inspiration for us. Bill Siebert will be preaching on Feb. 16th.
Have a blessed week!   Pastor Bowman

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 1/27 THRU 2/2

After 18 years of ignorance I learned last week that I can submit articles about our church to the Enterprise at no cost! My first article appeared last week and I submitted another for this week. I believe one couple visited our church last Sunday after reading that article. It does give us the opportunity for more exposure to our community.

Lora reports that Warm House needs this week are Ketchup, canned peas and dried beans (1# packages).

This Sunday I will continue the series from the Gospel of John. Last week we saw the amazing affirmation John makes about Jesus in his Prologue (John 1:1-14). He states that Jesus is both with God (in His humanity) but he also is God (in His deity). We struggle to get our minds about those affirmations, but we accept them as truth because they appear in the inspired record, the Bible.

This week we encounter John the Baptist. The Jewish leaders wonder who he is. After making several wrong guesses John identifies himself as the forerunner of the Messiah.

On Wednesday we continue our study in the Book of Isaiah. We finish that study on Feb. 5th and move on to the Book of Hebrews. All are welcome to join us at 3:30. Choir practice follows at 4:45. Our little choir is working on a cantata for Easter and we could use some more voices. If you can carry a tune please consider joining us.

That is all for this week. Come join us on Wednesday and Sunday. Pastor Bowman

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1/20 thru 1/26

This week I begin a new sermon series based on the Gospel of John. Sunday’s sermon is entitled “In the Beginning Was the Word,” based on John 1:1-14. John says some absolutely amazing things in this Prologue to his Gospel. He declares unequivocally that the man Jesus is also God. Wow! That is big! While I love all four Gospels, John is my favorite.

Wednesday Bible study at 3:30 will continue our examination of the Book of Isaiah. As we reach the final portion of Isaiah we encounter those wonderful prophecies fulfilled by Jesus. He is described as the Servant of the Lord.

Choir follows Bible Study at 4:45. Our little band of singers is working on an Easter cantata. We welcome additional voices.

May you all have a very blessed week, Trust Jesus and follow Jesus and you will!

THIS WEEK AT WARSAW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 1/13 THRU 1/19

We had a few brave souls show up for church last Sunday. Hopefully the weather will be better this Sunday. The sermon title this week is “Restoring That Which Has Been Lost” focusing on David’s prayer in Psalm 51. David is concerned because he has lost the joy of his salvation. He also knows that if he does not repent the Holy Spirit will be taken from him. We will be discussing this important Psalm.
Tuesday at 6:00 PM the Official Board will meet. This will be the first meeting with new officers for 2020. Board Chairman is David Cox. On Wednesday we resume our Bible study in the Book of Isaiah. We will also be discussing our next study topic.
Because of the weather last Sunday we postponed the installation of officers until this coming Sunday.
May you all have a blessed week!
