Marie’s daily verse: Psalm 94:19: When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

DAILY DEVOTION, January 21, 2023

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good (Titus 2:11-14).

Paul teaches us that we receive salvation from the grace of God. That grace is fully revealed in Jesus, our Savior, who gave Himself up for us. Faith in Jesus leads to a new life, a life where we have made a once-for-all decision to deny ungodliness and worldly passions – – – a new life where our main interest is to live a godly life. Now we await the return of our Redeemer. Paul refers to Jesus as our great God and Savior. The day will come when He will return in triumph to bless His children forever and to judge wickedness. The coming of Jesus in power and glory is on the mind of every Christian. We do not know when that day will occur, but we eagerly await it. It is the day when God’s final plan will be put into operation.

So, who are we as Christians?

1.     We have received the grace of God by faith in Jesus, who gave Himself for us.

2.     We strive to live free from ungodliness.

3.     We await the return of Jesus.

When these three elements are in place in our hearts, we know we are God’s children.

Our gracious heavenly Father, what an incredible plan You have put in place to redeem us. Help me to embrace Your plan with true faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
